The Newport County YMCA on Valley Road in Middletown has a rich history of strong volunteer support that keeps programming strong. Last year more than a thousand individuals volunteered in some capacity. Whether it was as an After School Program tutor, road race marshal, committee member or Youth Sport coach, it is through the efforts of volunteers working with staff, in a unique partnership, that enabled the Newport County YMCA to reach nearly 2 in 5 Aquidneck Islanders in some type of Y activity.
