Lucy's Hearth, a 24-hour emergency and transitional shelter for mothers and their children, is able to maintain a frugal budget while providing a comprehensive program due to the generosity of many volunteers. In the 19 years the hearth has been in operation, volunteers have given over 150,000 hours of service.
Our biggest needs right now are for shift volunteers, GED class childcare, homework help and mentors for children.
In addition to our biggest needs, we have several other opportunities:
- Board of Directors
- Shift Coverage
- Donation Organization
- Laundry
- Grocery Shopping
- Arts and Crafts
- Maintenance and Repair
- Statistics
- Tutoring
- Childcare
- Mentoring
- College Student Interns
- High School Volunteers
For more information of volunteer opportunities, please call for an application between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
