We are using the CodeRED messaging system to remind residents and businesses about the need to prepare for severe weather conditions. Tropical storm conditions are expected to occur beginning late Friday night into early Saturday morning.

• We are reminding people of the need to bring in any outdoor pets before the storm begins.
• You should prepare for high winds by securing any lawn furniture and any other loose outdoor items.
• Prepare for the possible loss of electrical power.
• Make sure you fully charge any cell phones and check flashlight/radio batteries.
• Make sure that you have food and water supplies for 72 hours.
• Check your prescription medicine supplies.

An updated code red message will be sent out Friday to provide the latest details of storm preparations. You can also find other emergency preparedness information at Rhode Island Emergency Managements website www.riema.ri.gov
