Too bad all these kids (families) don't have a place in Woonsocket to go swimming and hang out all day. Oh wait.... they used to until it got taken away from them. You all know I am referring to Social Park. I really feel bad for the low income families with no car and can't get to any of these places. I know someone will say it so i'll reply first. Have you ever tried to get 3 small kids ready for a day at the beach with carriage and bags with food ,toy, towels, etc... then walk to a bus stop. get everything and the kids on the bus , seated and trying not to have your stuff in other people's way. people giving you dirty looks and talking behind your back because your kids are irritable , anxious and hot and want to go swimming..Then get everything off the bus making sure you don't bump someone and get the kids. walk 15 minutes to the beach . Finally you can enjoy your day., but in your head you know you have to pack up and do it all over again. And it happens to be a humid 97 degrees. I've done it and that is why I feel so strongly about the beach getting taken away from Woonsocket residents.

@Diamondmom: Boy, do I sympathize with that scenario.
Choices have consequences.though, don't they?
Voting democRAT all these years has left us with a state that is being destroyed one pool, one school, one town at a time.
Moral of the story: STOP VOTING DEMOCrat.

If, and I do say if, you have a car ( or a friend with a car) one of the cutest places around to go is Spring Lake Beach in Burrillville (Glendale?). it is great for little ones.

DIAMONDMON; this is a very well and common sense post. i am one for not giving in to the poor me syndrome, in this situation a agree with you one hunderd percent. i certainly would like to see the city rig something up on a fire hydrant like providence does. a sprinkler. if the city cant maybe a private person in aparking lot could offer. i will talk to a counselor about this, for all the little brats in woonsocket. maybe this could be very possitive for them if there are any suggestions on this subject to improve my thoughts please submit.

Your obvious humanity is overwhelming. I'll bet you have a pool in your yard, c'mon now tell the truth. When was the last time you took a ride on RIPTA? Have a nice day.
