Bing Crosby's isn't the only one dreaming of a white Christmas.  With our recent warm winters, snow angels and snowmen almost seem like a thing of the past.

This year, however, we might have a proper holiday backdrop.

According to the National Weather Service, an active weather pattern is expected to begin on Sunday and to continue into the middle of next week.  The details, including the timing and type of precipitation, remains uncertain.

It all depends on the air temperature.

For Sunday night, the NWS reports it might be cold enough for snow; but it would be light.   Minor accumulations are possible.

On Monday,  a low pressure system will increase our odds at a snowfall, although the NWS warns the types and amounts are subject to change and are "very" uncertain.

If it does end up cold enough, several inches of snow accumulations could occur.

By Tuesday and Wednesday, a strong coastal storm may affect the region. If the storm develops, significant precipitation would be possible.

If so, we will have a Christmas "just like the ones we used to know."
