Hundreds Show 'Heart and Sole' At Annual Walk For Animals

It was a "pawsitively" spectacular day as hundreds descended on Glen Park for the 22nd annual Potter Shelter Heart and Sole Walk for Animals.

"This is the nicest family event and a wonderful way for people to celebrate their animals," said Deb Elliot, Potter League volunteer, as she greeted her two and four-legged friends at the 22nd annual Heart and Soul Walk For the Animals.

The fundraising event to benefit The Potter League For Animals was held Sunday at Glen Park. The Potter League is dedicated to the humane treatment of all animals and provides shelter and care for lost or unwanted companion animals.

Event coordinators said they hoped to raise upwards of $80,000 at this year's walk through donations from participants, business sponsorship and the efforts of the community.

Patty Spiegel, Board of Directors president, says she enjoys the event and "seeing all of the happy families," many with adopted Potter pets.

"Here, you can see the end result of all the efforts of the shelter," she said. "It comes full circle."
