Why Go: An old-fashioned train ride in antique railroad cars up Middletown's western coastline. And, yes, the cars are heated.

Where/When: Portsmouth Public Library on Thursday, Feb. 24 from 2 to 3 p.m.
Why Go: Participants have 40 minutes to create a unique structure without a pattern or motorized parts. Contestants can enter on their own or with an adult, but each team must have at least one child under age 12. Oh, and it's BYOL (Bring Your Own Legos)!
Pricing: Free, but registration is required.

Where/When: Middletown's Island Cinemas 10 throughout the week, matinees until early evening.
Why Go: A hilarious re-telling of Shakespeare's greatest love story ever told...with garden gnomes.
Pricing: $8.50 for adults, $6 for children.
- TURTLE: THE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY
Where/When: Jane Pickens Theater on Thursday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m.
Why Go: Watch a documentary that follows the incredible journey of a little loggerhead turtle from her hometown beach in Florida, travels north up the Gulf Stream, swims across the North Atlantic to Africa and makes her way back to the beach where she was born, a journey that only one in ten thousand turtles survives.

Where/When: Greenvale Vineyards, 582 Wapping Rd, Portsmouth, 1-4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24
Why Go: A way to introduce children to jazz in a fun and creative environment, plus complimentary refreshments served for the kids, while wine tastings are available to purchase for adults.

Why Go: Thousands of Christmas lights, luminaries, and up lights will line the trails to create a magical illuminated garden.
