Man Charged with DUI While Coming Home from Holiday Party
The following arrest was reported by the Middletown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Christopher Valloney, 22, of 140 Indian Ave. was arrested around 1:04 Tuesday morning on a DUI charge. Police said he stopped at the traffic light on Valley Road and East Main Road, but the light did not change to green because he was five feet beyond the stop line sensor. After five minutes, he drove through the red arrow, said police. Police said he then swerved, turned right onto Wyatt without signaling and drove onto the curb.
Valloney said he was at a Christmas party at Coddington Brewing Company and allegedly admitted he had some drinks. Police said there were beer bottles inside the car.
He failed the field sobriety tests and was arrested. Valloney was charged with a first offense driving under the influence charge and refusal to submit to a chemical test. He was also cited with obedience to traffic control devices, laned roadway violation, presence of alcohol while operating a motor vehicle and turn signal required.
