Middletown Police Seek Public's Help in Hit and Run Case

The Middletown Police Department is asking anyone with information to call the lead investigator at 401-846-0029 or leave a message on the MPD Anonymous Tip Line at 401-842-6516.

The is asking the public for help in tracking down a suspect involved in a hit-and-run accident involving multiple vehicles last week and one turnover.

A Middletown Police Department announcement stated that the collisions occurred on East Main Road last Wednesday, May 04, 2011 around 9 p.m. 

The suspect's car was traveling north on East Main Road at a high rate of speed when it struck the first victim’s vehicle, causing the driver to lose control and flip the car. The suspect then struck a second vehicle while allegedly fleeing the scene, police reported.

The suspect's vehicle had heavy front end damage and should have blue and maroon paint on it, transferred from the two vehicles it struck, according to police.

So far, police have received no further description of the suspect's vehicle from witnesses at the scene.

The collisions resulted in only minor injuries, according to Middletown Police Department spokesman Lt. Robert Nutt.
