Middletown's Sewer Smoke Tests Monday Location Report

A list of the streets that will undergo sewer smoke tests today

Over the next few weeks, Middletown's Public Works Department will be conducting smoke testing of the town's sewer systems. Technicians send pressurized, non-toxic smoke through the sewers to check for leaks.

If a household or business has a dry pipe or a leak, you may see odorless smoke inside the premises.  This is safe and there is no cause for alarm. If there is a red truck outside, you may confirm with the technician the smoke was a result of the test.  You might want to call a plumber to determine the spot of the leak inside your home or business.

Middletown Fire Chief Ron Doire reminds residents that if you are unable to determine the source of smoke to call the Middletown Fire Department.

For questions related to the project schedule, you may call the field manager Thomas Mitchell (603) 365-5544
