On July 18, People’s Credit Union employees presented a workshop on Financial Literacy to students who participate in the YES! Program in Bristol.
The YES! Program is coordinated by Mosaico CDC and is offered to students at Mt. Hope High School to guide them through a career development curriculum. The program helps students develop their self esteem, increase basic job-readiness and life skills and participate in work-based learning activities.
Courtney Hunter, Member Relationship Manager at People’s and Fatima Estrela, People’s Bristol Branch Manager conducted the workshop. The workshop covered many aspects of financial literacy including basic budgeting, banking and credit health.
“Teaching today’s youth about financial literacy is so important for them to succeed financially in the future. YES! is such a great program for high school students in the area and we were happy to help,” commented Hunter.
People’s Credit Union serves members through six locations in Bristol, Middletown, Newport, North Kingstown, Portsmouth and Wakefield.
