If a woman in your life says "don't bother buying me flowers," you're probably better off doing it anyways.
Why? Because no matter how traditional of a gift they are, flowers are an immediate pick-me-up. They're fresh, colorful and almost always a pleasant surprise.
That said, you can't give just any flowers. (Forgo the carnations and don't even think about picking a few out of the front lawn.) Make it a bouquet, the bigger the better. Roses always win.
Luckily, there are dedicated local florists who can help you get it right.
This week, we want to know: which local florist is your favorite?
Is it Broadway Floral Designs, Chaves' Gardens, Stop & Shop, Shaws, Water's Edge or Little Flowers Floral?
Vote in our poll below, then share your thoughts in the comments section. If we left your favorite florist off the list, note that in the comments as well.
We'll leave the poll up all week then close voting at 9 a.m. Friday. At noon that day, we'll share your top local pick. Then be sure to watch the site over the weekend when we tally up the top votes and announce the florists that got the most rave reviews across all of our Rhode Island sites.
Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch.

Jerilyn has both the creativity and the experience that the others lack. You only need to go into the Bellevue Florist on Thames Street, just short of Carroll Ave, to see her creativity with flowers.

I recently had some surgery and had several fiends send me flowers from different local florists. The bouquet from Bellevue Florists was far superior to all of the others and it was one of the first that I received and still looks gorgeous. I wish I was the type of person to name one place in particular that is listed in the list above which delivered an arrangement that looked as if the person bought half dead flowers and supplemented the arrangement with greens and branches from their yard. That business will not be getting my business!

The Wild Orchid on Main Street is by far the best florist in the state. They have absolutely beautiful arrangements made fresh by the best designers. Any event designed by them is stunning. It's amazing that they are not listed.

"O" this is gettin confusing now...first the B words, now best in state? How about stick to the program folks. " Best in Middletown" is the topic for the poll. I'll stick to that place between the two ponds........on Green End ave. The name is a blurr, but the service and the folks there are wonderful.
