Residents Say Some Don't Pick Up Dog Doo; What's Your Experience?

Does Middletown have an issue with dog poop?

Some Middletown residents say they can't even step into their own front lawn's without running the risk of stepping in dog doo.

"I always pick up after my dog, but I do find that some folks don't," wrote Shannon Lewis on the Middletown Patch Facebook page.  "It annoys me as a responsible dog owner and it gives us dog owners a bad name!"

Margaret Waluk Paolo agreed.

"I find it really irritating when I have other people's dogs poop on our front lawn, which happens all the time!" she wrote.

Mary E. Viera-Moniz put a warning out that if dog doo was left in her yard, she may toss it back at the pet owner for a "return trip."

What is your experience?  Do you think Middletown dog owners are sometimes irresponsible?  Do you think the town should do more to enforce pet ordinances or provide baggies?  Tell us in the comments!

Really???? Dog leavings?...OK if it's that important...The only time I had dogs leaving their calling card on my lawn is when THEIR OWNERS allowed them to run loose... now, on to more important issues please...

Its a combination of things - we are responsible pet owners but there are others that think the world is their toilet! The valley is a perfect example...we are dealing with alot of tourists in the hotels with dogs so poopie bags would be helpful there (I guess they don't come prepared since they are on vacation... lol) - as far as neighborhoods, shame on people that don't leash their dogs and pick up after them! not only is that irresponsible, its dangerous for your pets... between cars and coyotes, why take a chance!

I rarely see loose dogs and most owners that I know do pick up after their dogs. If it is a recurring problem in a particular yard, chances are it is the same irresponsible owner over and over.
