RIEMA Warns of Major Nor’easter

RIEMA reported they are preparing for the possibility of a major Nor’easter that could begin this Friday lasting into Saturday morning.

 

 

At 3 p.m. this afternoon, the Rhode Island Emergency Management (RIEMA) reported they are preparing for the possibility of a major Nor’easter that could begin this Friday lasting into Saturday morning.

Early predictions are for snow to begin Friday afternoon and lasting until Saturday morning. There may be as much as 10-18 inches of snow in some Rhode Island areas including south coast region.

In addition, high winds are expected beginning Friday night, increasing with gust to 50-60 along the coast. There is only minor coastal flooding that is expected at this time.
