Tell Us: Is this Extreme Weather a Symptom of Climate Change?

Studies predict intense storms as a symptom of climate change. What do you think?

According to the University of Rhode Island Climate Change Collaborative, the world is getting warmer, the oceans are getting warmer and more acidic, storms are getting more intense and sea levels are rising at an accelerated rate.

A study funded by the Rhode Island Sea Grant, found that the sea level in Newport has increased eight inches since 1930. By 2100, the Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council said to expect three to five feet of sea level rise.

More Americans than ever believe the earth's temperature has been getting warmer.  Currently, 67 percent say there is evidence of global warming, up four points over last year, according to a Pew Research article published last month.

The study reported that 42 percent say the warming is mostly caused by human activity and less than 20 percent believe the changes are a result of natural changes.

What do you think about the recent extreme weather patterns? Do you think the recent storms are a symptom of climate change? Tell us your thoughts in the comments.

Yes. It is. But the cause of the climate change is not man-made. The sun itself is changing which is causing global warming not only on our planet but all the other planets within our solar system. Even NASA has reported on the ice caps on Mars are experiencing melting http://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2003/07aug_southpole/ along with the fact you have many of the other planets in our solar system exhibiting odd unseen behavior. Just google "Climate Change <enter planet name here>" and you will find papers from universities along with papers from NASA and some in Russian. Now, what is causing the storms and massive earthquakes in particular are these massive Solar Flares that are occurring. These flares cause massive disturbances within the magnetic field of our planet causing things to be shaken up just a bit. These super storms that we are seeing such as the hurricanes and tornadoes are massive vortex's of magnetic energy that are basically that are getting bigger and more powerful. http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/technology/2012/03/solar-flares-2012-another-storm-coming/ There is a reason the sun is in the middle of the Mayan Calender, skeptic or not. It is what it is.

Now my real problem with the climate change thing is the fact that we have politicians and scientists trying to blame people for it and saying its man made, and then trying to tax you for it (Carbon Tax) and change the whole education system for it as well, blaming the people for it.

Piping on my last paragraph, the real problem I have with Climate Change and how its being used in the Mainstream Media is 1) Its peoples faults 2) There is nothing you can do about it 3) Buy electrical cars and solar panels and all will be ok 4) All the politicians are investing in these green companies and banking on the hope that the climate change agenda gets put through in order for them to make more under the counter money. 5) The goddamn UN is making up a taxing system based on Carbon Taxes and Carbon Credits? What the hell kind of garbage is that.

When you learn and understand that the real cause of climate change is the sun and not us and its not just happening on our planet, we should dissect and watch how these so called "leaders" try to push us in these directions. Politics and control is all based on fear, the fear of the next EEE outbreak, the fear of the terrorist hiding in your backyard, the fear of the commies, the fear of the climate change. Nothing like having a faceless and invisible enemy driving your countries politics and policies.

I would trust the science on this. It's human activities primarily responsible for climate change. Has nothing to do with changes in the sun or the Mayan calendar.

I gave you the science. Read NASAs links along with ABC News report. Your "Scientific American" journal is outdated and a proven false science. If its occurring on other planets, its not human caused. Plain and simple.

Every link you've given me is to some random garbage wannabe science website. Again, READ NASA's OWN WEBPAGE. What are you not understanding?

"Skeptical Science" So...a website from skeptics who believe one thing, and then claim anything else is skeptical....Now I know the level of your critical thinking skills its pointless in pursuing this discussion.

Climate cycle is a natural occurrence that man cannot start or stop.
Natural water vapor has more impact than CO2.
The government has corrupted science for their purposes.
The famous hockey stick graph depicting otherwise is a fraud.

CBS Sunday Morning had a segment on yesterday's show addressing this question. Here's the link to the website. The segment is titled "The scientific truth about climate change".
