There are no more holidays in this country now that the stores are open 365 days a year holidays mean nothing anymore they are just another day.

Yes the CEO's of Target and Walmart making their employees work on Thanksgiving is very Scrooge like.

Seeing Trinity Rep's rendition of A Christmas Carol certainly brings up the Christmas Spirit in me. Baking cookies, tagging a tree, watching Christmas Vacation, and, most importantly, spending time with family make the season ring!

The Shill is right;It is not like it was.I remember walking downtown newport many years ago,lights aglow,snow on the ground,Santa in the street saying hello,people saying hello,it seemed very merry,music playing,yoday it is all about the dollar,Christmas Items go up in stores before Halloween is over,stores open 24/7,no it is not like years ago,it is not the old Christmas Spirit,instead it is the old Dollar spirit.Sad isn;t it?
