This Week in Middletown Schools

A roundup of all the happenings in the Middletown schools for the week of June 13-19.

 

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Krupowicz Planetarium will host a family fun night on Tuesday, June 14, at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and admission is on a first come, first serve basis. The cost is $3 per person or $2 for children under eight. Children under four are not admitted. Seating is limited. For more information, contact Renee Gamba at rgamba@mpsri.net.

There will be a School Committee meeting on Thursday, June 16, at 7 p.m. in the Oliphant Administration Building.

The Middletown Public Schools summer school enrichment programs have been announced. See attached program guide for details and registration information.

New student registration is now open all students not currently enrolled in Middletown Public Schools. To register, parents need to call the administration office at 849-2122 to make an appointment. The child being registered does not need to be present. Appointments are available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration forms can be found online.

MIDDLETOWN HIGH SCHOOL

The MHS Senior Prom will take place on Tuesday, June 14.

MHS graduation ceremonies will take place on Saturday, June 18.

GAUDET MIDDLE SCHOOL

Mrs. Johnson’s class will have a music concert on Tuesday, June 14, at 9 a.m., and Mrs. Hookway’s class will have a concert on Wednesday, June 15, at 9 a.m.

Select seventh grade students will meet with the Potter League for Animals and Newport Biodiesel on Tuesday, June 14, and Friday, June 17.

Fourth grade students will have an assembly with POW Science on Thursday, June 16, at 8:30 a.m.

Fifth grade students will take a field trip on the Amazing Grace on Friday, June 17, from 8:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.  

AQUIDNECK SCHOOL

Aquidneck School third grade students will visit Gaudet Middle School on Tuesday, June 14.

Third grade students will take a field trip to Fort Adams on Thursday, June 16.

Students at Aquidneck School will welcome their families for a school barbeque on Friday, June 17.

FOREST AVENUE SCHOOL

There will be a blood drive in the Forest Avenue School gymnasium on Tuesday, June 14, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Third grade students will visit Gaudet Middle School on Wednesday, June 15.

The School Improvement Team will meet on Wednesday, June 15, at 7:30 p.m.

Second grade students will visit Casey Farm on Friday, June 17, from 8:45 a.m. to 2 p.m.

ALL SAINTS ACADEMY

The Dad’s Lunch will take place on Friday, June 17.

ASA graduation will take place on Saturday, June 18 at 7 p.m.
