Thursday: Bird Tales and Library Board of Trustees Meeting

A look at what's happening in and around Middletown today.

 
  1. The Norman Bird Sanctuary will host Bird Tales, a storyhour and craft for toddlers. The price is $4 for members or $6 for non-members.
  2. Middletown seniors are welcome to attend a writing class, Words from the Heart, at the Middletown Senior Center at 1:30 p.m. The class explores the memorable moments in life and how to put them into words to share with loved ones.
  3. The Middletown Public Library’s Board of Trustees will hold a Budget Committee meeting at 4:15 p.m. at the library.
  4. Tonight is Newport Gallery Night. More than 20 art galleries will be open for extended hours from 5 to 8 p.m. and more than 20 restaurants will offer special dining deals for those participating in Gallery Night.   5. Representatives from Church Community Housing will be on hand for an informational session on first time home buying at the Newport Public Library at 7 p.m. tonight. They will discuss the classes offered for eligible first time homebuyers, and there will be a drawing for one attendee of the session to win a “scholarship” for Homebuyer Training Education.
