Thursday: Book Presentation, Talk on American Icons

1. Middletown Police Chief Anthony Pesare will present his book "They Always Win" at 5 p.m. in the Newport Athletic Club cafe. The event is free and open to the public.
2. The Aquidneck Land Trust and the East Bay Met School will hold a clean-up at Miantonomi Memorial Park and Sunset Hill from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Volunteers are welcome. 4. Brown University professor Elliot J. Gorn, will present a lecture, “American Icons: The Power of Enduring Texts and Images in U.S. Society,” at 6:30 p.m. in Bazarsky Lecture Hall at Salve Regina University.
