Tuesday: Watercolor Paintings on Display and Tai Chi
A look at what's happening in and around Middletown today.
1. Local artist Paula Visnoski, from Middletown, will have 21 watercolor paintings on display in the lower level gallery at the Newport Public Library for the entire month of May.
2. A homebuyer education and financial literacy class will be held for potential homebuyers offered by the Church Community Housing Corporation.
3. Newcomers and beginners are welcome at the Tai Chi Outdoor Practice Group at Norman Bird Sanctuary.
4. Today in high school sports: the boys' varsity baseball team plays North Kingstown; the varsity fastpitch softball team takes on Woonsocket; the boys' varsity tennis team competes against West Warwick; and the boys' varsity track team faces Barrington High School, which will determine the Eastern Division Champion.
5. Expect showers today with cooler temperatures in the mid-50s, according to the National Weather Service.
