[Update] VIDEO: Cow Loose on Jamestown Bridge
Commuter shoots video of cow running loose on the bridge Tuesday morning.
Commuters on the Jamestown Bridge Tuesday morning were treated to a far more peculiar site than usual as a cow ran loose on the bridge, backing up traffic in both directions.
Portsmouth resident Don Mosher shot this video of the cow running loose on the Jamestown Bridge Tuesday morning during peak commute time. Police officers were trying to corral the cow, which had apparently fallen off a truck traveling over the bridge around 7:30 a.m.
Two North Kingstown officers joined members of the Rhode Island State Police and the Department of Environmental Management in the venture to secure the cow.
At this time the cow is off the bridge in the woods near Boston Neck Road in North Kingstown.

Reguardless of this cow being sent to the slaughter house and being "doomed"already, why was being put down the option? Other than stopping traffic was this cow endangering any person? I would of hoped the Slaughter house has a more humane ways of doing this. Also the transporter had little reguard to the safety of this animal if a cow could just happen to fall out of a moving vehicle. If this happened to be a Human child, I am sure Charges would follow.

I can't believe people on the Island don't know a cow from a bull. Maybe you needed someone from Texas to lasooooooo that animal. WHY WAS IT PUT DOWN? It had already gone through a terrible experience falling out of the vehicle. It may have turned out to be the best STUD! Take that from Florida. Carolyn
