Absentee Ballots Solidify Viveiros' Seat on Council

Absentee and provisional ballots counted Wednesday gave Republican candidate Antone Viveiros another 117 votes, making him the sixth overall finisher for the seven at-large seats. Incumbent Richard Cambra retained his council hold in seventh place.

Election results are in for Middletown General Assembly Districts 72, 73, and 74 and for Senate District 12 (uncontested). Results are displayed with 100-percent of precincts reporting from each district's represented communities.

Bruce Long Returns to Public Office; Four Council Incumbents Re-Elected

Voters picked a mixed bag of incumbents, newcomers and independents for seven at-large council seats. At his sixth run for council, Antone Viveiros narrowly placed seventh by 15 votes over Incumbent Frank Bozyan, with absentee ballots to be counted.

School Committee Members Re-Elected

Below are voting returns for the three non-partisan School Committee members who ran uncontested in this year's Election.

Middletown Voters Approve $2 Million Roads Bond

Voters were asked to approve a $2 million bond to finance the reconstruction of roads, sidewalks, and drains on seven residential roads with some of the oldest infrastructure in town.

MHS Freshmen Beat Rogers 56-0, Prep for NE Pats

In a hard fought game, Rogers came on strong, but the Islanders proved to be too much in the end and won 56-0. MHS Coach CJ Russ took a few minutes after the game to talk about the win, and the mixed emotions of not making this years playoffs.
