Dr. Seth Bock, who owns and operates the Newport Acupuncture and Wellness Spa in Middletown, passed a major hurdle this week in opening his proposed medical marijuana center or "compassion center" in Portsmouth.
Bock's application for the Greenleaf Compassionate Care Center was among the three applications chosen by the Department of Health on Tuesday for a registration certificate. Before opening for business, a compassion center must still be inspected by the Department of Health, plus obtain a certificate of occupancy from the Town of Portsmouth, as well as undergo specialty certification for staff on medical marijuana treatments. Do you agree or disagree with the Department of Health's decision? Why or why not?

Not only do I approve of the plan, but am a bit upset that the RI Health Department seems to have dragged it's heels at every turn to delay implimentation of the Medical Marijuana Compassion Center law.
