WaterFire Providence Documentary Tonight at Jane Pickens Theater

The red carpet will be rolled out in Newport for the documentary, WaterFire: Art & Soul of a City. The Newport premiere will take place on Thursday evening, May 16th at the Jane Pickens Theater and Event Center in Newport Rhode Island. The Executive Producer of the program, Joe Rocco and the creator and Executive Artistic Director of WaterFire, Barnaby Evans, will be on hand after the screening to talk about the making of this documentary and take questions from the audience. “We are thrilled to bring our documentary to Newport and the historic Jane Pickens Theater,” said Rocco. Dropkick Murphys to Perform in Newport

The Dropkick Murphys are headed down to Newport. The popular Celtic punk band will headline the 2nd Annual Newport Celtic Rock Festival along with Eileen Ivers, The Town Pants, Screaming Orphans and Celtica-Pipes Rock! on Saturday, August 24 from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The general admission tickets are available for purchase this Friday, May 3rd at 12:00 noon at a “Savin’ O’ the Green” Discount of $15 while tickets last. Once the discount sells out, the advance ticket price is $35.50 through August 23rd and then will be $45.50 the day-of the event. The Newport Waterfront Events at the Newport Yachting Center announces it has added three more headliners to the 2013 Nantucket Nectars Sunset Music Series, bringing the total number of concerts scheduled to-date to eleven. The latest additions to the line-up are Southern rock jam band, Gov’t Mule, one of the most successful American bands in rock history, Chicago, and the Under The Sun Tour featuring Smash Mouth, Sugar Ray and Gin Blossoms with Special Guest, Fastball. The concert series will take place from late May through August at its unique waterfront venue in the heart of historic Newport.
