DESCRIPTION:Local artist\, Paula Visnoski\, from Middletown\, RI will hav
 e 21 watercolor paintings on display in the lower level gallery at the N
 ewport Public Library for the entire month of May\, 2012.\nThe artist&rs
 quo\;s opening reception for the show will be Saturday\, May 5th from 4P
 M to 6PM. There will be snacks and light refreshments. The event is free
  to the public.\nMs Visnoski recently donated a painting to help raise m
 oney for USA Battle Buddies. Tickets are currently being sold to raffle 
 off the painting on Armed Forces Day\, May 19\, 2012. Details can be fou
 nd on the artist&rsquo\;s website\, http://www.pmvart.com.\nMs Visnoski 
 has won numerous awards locally and internationally in painting\, photog
 raphy and graphic design. In 2010 and 2011 she received awards in the Mi
 ddletown Historical Society&rsquo\;s "Beautiful Middletown Photography C
 ontest" Juried by the Photographer&rsquo\;s Guild of the Newport Art Ass
 ociation.\nSeveral of the paintings on display have been award winners. 
 Among them\, the painting &ldquo\;Breakthrough&rdquo\; honored in the Ju
 ried Jamestown\, RI Town Hall Art Exhibit in 2011\, &ldquo\;Predators &a
 mp\; Prey&rdquo\; at the 5th Annual Manhattan Arts International &ldquo\
 ;Celebrate the Healing Power of Art&rdquo\; juried art exhibition in New
  York and &ldquo\;Mortality&rdquo\; took a 1st place award in the Americ
 an Art Awards International Juried show in 2009.\nMs Visnoski does commi
 ssion work both locally and nationally. Her commissioned work and the Li
