More About St. George's School
Founded in 1896, St. George's School is an independent boarding and day school with an Episcopal heritage welcoming students from grades 9 - 12. Set atop a lush 25 acres overlooking Sachuest Beach in Middletown, its towering chapel spires and stone architecture have become one of the more widely-recognized landmarks to residents and visitors of Newport County. About 120 academic courses are offered, including 22 Advanced Placement classes. Given its high academic standards and college success rates, reputation for dedicated faculty, community involvement, comprehensive extracurricular and athletic programs and its idyllic setting, it's no wonder why students from more than 30 states and 15 countries, as well as from diverse socioeconomic and culturally diverse backgrounds are drawn to St. George's each year. The sprawling campus also features four new dormitories, a new performing arts center, science center and observatory. Athletic facilities include a new swimming pool, fitness center and weight room, dual indoor hockey rinks, 12 outdoor tennis courts, eight squash courts, three basketball courts, outside track and several playing fields. Seven students even live and study aboard St. George's 69-foot marine research vessel Geronimo.
