Author Pam Belluck and Timothy Lepore, MD will be at Newport Public Library, June 23rd at 2 pm together to discuss Belluck's new book: Island Practice: Cobblestone Rash, Underground Tom and Other Adventures of a Nantucket Doctor. The book chronicles the daily life of Dr. Lepore a general surgeon and head of Nantucket Cottage Hospital. Dr. Lepore has practiced on the island for over 30 years. While he has treated his share of celebrities the core of his medical practice are the island year-rounders. Island Practice takes the readers deeply into a world-Nantucket- where life can sometimes seem to be forgotten by the rest of the world. Ms. Belluck has been with the New York Times for over 15 years and is a health and medical writer for the newspaper. She is a former Fulbright Scholarship winner.
