SAKONNET TOLL OPPOSITION PLATFORM

TO ALL PEOPLE OPPOSING THE TOLL / HEAD TO THE STATE HOUSE

 

Since the Governor signed the FY13 budget, which contained article 20, which would allow the Rhode Island Bridge Authority to toll the bridge, in 2012, we the people have formed a committee named STOP ( Sakonnet Toll Opposition Platform) that have put the word out against the toll…

Our elected officials have been working hard on our behalf. Now our Senators have introduced two bills, number S0020 to repeal this toll, and number S0242, which will bring a fair and equitable settlement to this fiscal problem. WE NOW HAVE TO STAND TALL, AND BACK THEM IN THIS ATTEMPT.

IF WE ARE TO BE HEARD, WE NEED NUMBERS, I MEAN THOUSANDS TO GO WITH US IN CARS, BUSES, VANS, AND ANY OTHER WAY, TO STAND OUR GROUND ON THIS ISSUE…..NO TOLL….

Our Senators have informed us that the Finance Committee hearing in the Senate is set for 4:00 pm. on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 in room 313 at the RI Statehouse Providence. We must move now. If you are willing and able, please come and voice your opposition, or come and support those who WILL.

The buses or vans will leave the Stop and Shop in Middletown at: 2:00pm, and leave Clements Market on East Main Road Portsmouth at 2:15pm, and leave the Park and ride on Fish Road in Tiverton at 2:30pm, Sharp,

and arrive at Statehouse between 3-3:30. We will be returning at aprox. 10:00pm.
