The group seeks to collaborate with the community to create local solutions that meet local environmental\, social and economic needs. \;\nNumerous area busine sses have generously donated many items for a planned silent auction and raffle in support of Sustainable Aquidneck and its planned programs.\nT he group&rsquo\;s foundation project for 2012\, \;Island Community F arms @ Green End\, \;is being established on eight acres of land own ed by the Aquidneck Land Trust. Sustainable Aquidneck has secured a five year lease to allow development of independent micro-farms\, a communit y garden\, a Permaculture food forest\, education heirloom and education al gardens and an experimental farm.\nDonated items and services will be used to raise money for projects aimed at enriching and strengthening o ur community.
