National Achievement Scholar

Amy N. Addo, a senior at Aquidneck Island Christian Academy in Portsmouth and resident of Tiverton, has met the high academic standard to be named a Semi Finalist in the 2013 National Achievement Scholarship Program.  After qualification into this program by her performance on the PSAT/NMSQT, Amy has now been recognized with the top 1600 Black American high school seniors.  She will now move to fulfill several requirements to attain Finalist standing.

Amy has also received a commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.  She is among 34,000 students commended for her exceptional academic promise.

 “These students represent a valuable national resource;  recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation.  We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.”  Spokesman for NMSC
