Thank You to the People of Middletown

I feel so honored to have been part of Middletown's history for the past two years, serving as your Town Councilman. Thank you, from my heart.

I want to thank the people of Middletown for granting me the honor and privilege to serve you for the last two years.  I worked every day to be your voice on the Town Council.

Thank you, Mr. Brown, Town Administrator, for your hard work and dedication to the residents of the town; and your staff, for their support to you and the people of Middletown.  Thank you, Mr. Miller, Town Solicitor, for your sound legal opinions to the council and personal advice to me.

Thank you to my family, friends and supporters, for all their help.

And to my colleagues on the council, thank you for your hard work, cooperation, and dedication- always for the benefit of Middletown, But most of all, for leaving ideology and any animosity in the car, and not bringing it into the council chamber, where the people’s business is done.  I hope the new council will do the same.

We dealt with Federal and State reductions in aid, union contract negotiations, the issue of regionalization, roundabouts, wind turbines, controversial building development proposals, proposed zoning changes, beach pavilion proposal, fire station renovations, billboards, and the Casey/Sears environmental easement (which saved a 29 acre farm from development), to name a few agenda items.  We did this together and the people of Middletown benefited.

After several public hearings, we placed five charter amendments on the ballot, which Middletown voters passed overwhelmingly.  Those changes will allow Middletown the ability to operate more efficiently, and provide savings to our taxpayers.  We managed your tax dollars prudently and kept the town budget to modest increases.

I feel so honored to have been part of Middletown’s history for the past two years, serving as your Town Councilman.  Thank you, from my heart.
