Proud Local Army Mom Needs Flag, Sign Help with Son's Homecoming on Sunday

Middletown, RI family is asking for neighbors to bring American flags and welcome home signs for Spenser Bosch, 19, of the 101st Airborne Division, just back from a difficult deployment in Afghanistan.

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. —It was just about two years ago that Middletown's Spenser Bosch, 19, graduated from Middletown High School.

On Sunday, March 9, he's coming home from a tough deployment in Afghanistan and his proud Army mom is hoping a few neighbors will give her a hand in making his return special.

He'll be coming in at night and "anyone who wants to either drop off welcome home signs or American flags at our home" is welcome, said LeAnn Bosch.

You can either stake them in the yard yourself or leave them on the front porch.

"We are so thankful he is safe but some of his fellow brothers didn't make it home," Bosch said. "I just want to boost his spirits and show him how proud we are of him."

The house is at 49 Maple Ave. in Middletown.

His unit arrived from Afghanistan last week but he's been in debriefing since then.

Until then, his family and friends are eagerly awaiting his homecoming for "hugs and some much needed R&R" Bosch said.
