No, it's not Friday. It's Thursday. Here are some things to take your mind off the fact that it's not Friday but it is hot.

- The Newport Playhouse and Cabaret Restaurant presents “Bermuda Avenue Triangle.” This outrageous comedy is about two widows whose daughters have moved them into a condo in Las Vegas.
- The Middletown Public Library is welcoming lovers and readers of Shakespeare to join the group, "The Bard is Here." They meet Thursdays from 5 to 6 p.m. Bring your own collected volume or borrow the library's copy for the night.
