Trash Pickup Delayed by One Day in Newport, Middletown
Storm pushes collection back by one day.
If your normal trash day is Wednesday, today is the day to make sure your bins are on the curb if you live in Newport or Middletown.
All service from Wednesday through Friday will be delayed by one day. That means today's pickup will serve Wednesday customers, Fridays will serve Thursday's and so on.
The city of Newport advised residents to plan accordingly.
The town of Middletown is asking residents to not put carts in the street as "it hinders Department of Public Works' snow removal," according to a notice posted on the town's Web site.
If you're a Friday customer, your trash will be picked up on Saturday.
