The Newport community will have the opportunity to learn the heartwarming story of SSG Travis Mills as he fights courageously to overcome the adversities of being a quadruple amputee after being wounded in action while serving in Afghanistan.
The film, Travis: A Soldier’s Story, will premiere at the Jane Pickens Theater for a special engagement of two screenings.
Mills lost portions of both arms and legs as the result of an improvised explosive device on April 10, 2012 while on patrol during his third tour of duty in Afghanistan. He is one of just five quadruple-amputees from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to survive such extensive injuries.
Travis: A Soldier’s Story is an intimate look into the life of a wounded soldier as he faces the unimaginable physical and emotional challenges of this life-altering injury.
