"Bellevue Avenue" Movie Coming to Newport Next Summer

The film, based on Gilded Age Newport, will begin production in June.

 

Newport will once again be the backdrop for movie-making magic.Bellevue Avenue” will begin production next June and will focus on Newport’s Gilded age, according to an article from SalveToday.

Ken Dooley, Cranston native and Newport resident, will screen-write and executive produce, Andy Lauer will direct and Eric Lutes will both act and produce, the report said.

Several university properties will be used during filming.

“Bellevue Avenue” will also film on location at Fort Adams State Park, Malbone Estate, the Old Colony Railway and Rough Point.

The film “will mix suspense, compassion and compelling characters to illustrate a world of ethical and social disarray” WPRI.com reports.

Along with his screenwriting credit for “Bellevue Avenue”, Dooley has also written "The Murder Trial of John Gordon," and "The Auerbach Dynasty," as well as others.
