"When we first conceived the idea of a dog fashion show, we envisioned a fun community event," commented NRF's Education Director Lisa Dady. "The response has been amazing, drawing many first-time visitors, and their dogs, to the property. It is a wonderful way to celebrate Doris Duke's love of animals and give back to the Potter League, which she supported during her lifetime." Doris Duke usually had 10-12 dogs living at Rough Point at any one time. Many were German shepherds, but Doris also adopted greyhounds and other dogs, many of whom came from shelters.

Professional dog trainers from the Potter League will be on hand with a live training demonstration. Trainers will feature one of their most unique training classes, Cafe Dog, in which dog owners learn how to teach their dogs to be well-behaved around guests and food. Visitors can learn more about the wide range of behavior training classes available at the Potter League.
