Friday: The Weekend Guide

A look at what's happening in Middletown this weekend.

  1. The Deblois Gallery will host the this weekend, featuring works from students of Rogers High School, Middletown High School, Portsmouth High School, Portsmouth Abbey, and St. George’s School. An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday night, and the gallery will also be open from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free.
  2. The will offer a workshop on  on Saturday at from 10 a.m. to noon. Certified arborist Jacqui Mitchell will lead the group and teach them how to identify different trees based on bark, branches, buds, and more. This program is for those ages 8 and up costs $3. Pre-registration is required and can be made by calling 846-2577.
  3. The will hold an on Saturday at 11 a.m. for children ages 4 and up. Children will explore the world of mermaids, search for sunken treasure, and more during this storytime and craft. Admission is free, but pre-registration is required by calling 846-1573.
  4. Middletown Police Chief, Anthony M. Pesare, will at the Middletown Library at 3 p.m. Saturday for to promote his book “They Always Win: Inspired by a True Story.” Books will be available for purchase and signing at the .
  5. will offer a workshop called on Sunday from 2 to 4:30 p.m. lead by yoga instructor and master gardener Barbara Gee. The workshop aims to help develop more flexibility and strength before the upcoming gardening season. The cost is $40. For more information, go to www.innerlightyoga.com.
