Kevin Hart to Play Summer Comedy Series

One of the most popular comedians and actors in America will be making his Newport debut this summer at the Newport Summer Comedy Series at the .

Kevin Hart, who has done it all with great success over the past eight years, brings his standup comedy show to the Newport waterfront on Friday, Aug. 24 for one show only.

Hart, who has three hit Comedy Central specials, has also appeared in commercials, movies and television sitcoms. He first appeared in "Modern Family" in 2011 as Phil Dunphy’s next door neighbor. He has appeard in Air Jordan commercials alongside NBA star Dwayne Wade and a series of eBay commercials. The many movies Hart has been in include "Little Fockers" with Robert DeNiro and Barbara Streisand and "Death at a Funeral" with Chris Rock.

“Kevin usually performs at larger venues than our 1,746-seat tent at the Newport Yachting Center. In fact, this fall he will embark on an arena tour, so for fans to get to see him in such a cozy venue such as ours will be a real treat and make this one of the hottest tickets of any comedy show in the country,” said Joe Rocco, comedy series president.
