"Fortress of Nightmares," Fort Adams' largest annual fundraiser for restoration of the historic military installation, offers "Tunnels of Terror" and "Ghost Hunts" through Sunday night. Tickets are on sale now. Patch is a proud sponsor.

Easton's Beach Carousel Turns "Creepy"
  • Where: 175 Memorial Blvd, Newport, RI 02840
  • Date: October 30, 2010
  • Time: 3:00pm–6:00pm
  • Easton's' Beach Carousel turns "Creepy"
  • The Creepy Carousel presented by the City of Newport will return on Saturday, Oct. 30, between 3 and 6 p.m. at Easton's Beach to allow children and families and opportunity to wear their costumes, ride the carousel, make craft projects, enjoy some light refreshments and get a bag of goodies. The event is "not scary" and suitable for younger children. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Admission is $5 per child and includes 1 free carousel ride, creepy crafts, haunted goody bag, and light refreshments. All children is costume receive 1 extra ride free.
  • Another free ride will be provided with $1 worth of non-perishable food items, which will be donated to a local food bank.  The party will be held rain or shine and is held in the rotunda.
