Let the wild rumpus begin! Maurice Sendak's classic Where the Wild Things Are will be read along with a special Wild Thing visiting today. Children are encouraged to wear a costume, take photos, and meet a favorite book character.  The event is free and open to children and families.

• Easton's' Beach Carousel turns "Creepy"
• The Creepy Carousel presented by the City of Newport will return on Saturday, Oct. 30, between 3 and 6 p.m. at Easton's Beach to allow children and families and opportunity to wear their costumes, ride the carousel, make craft projects, enjoy some light refreshments and get a bag of goodies. The event is "not scary" and suitable for younger children. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
• Admission is $5 per child and includes 1 free carousel ride, creepy crafts, haunted goody bag, and light refreshments. All children is costume receive 1 extra ride free.
• Another free ride will be provided with $1 worth of non-perishable food items, which will be donated to a local food bank.  The party will be held rain or shine and is held in the rotunda.
