What Token Would You Use to Represent RI?

Hasbro is issuing a special Rhode Island-themed Monopoly game — and is looking for your vote!

This winter, game company Hasbro is planning to issue a specially-themed Monopoly game, with proceeds to benefit Hasbro Children's Hospital.

And while five of the game pieces have been chosen, the toymaker has posted a website allowing Rhode Islanders to vote for the sixth Rhode Island Monopoly token.

Following an internal poll among Hasbro employees and hospital staffers, the company narrowed the list down to 14 contenders, including the Rhode Island 'Hope' seal, a sailboat, the Newport Bridge, a quahog, Mr. Potato Head, and the Towers in Narragansett.

It's the first time that the choice of a token in a special state-themed Monopoly game has been put up for a vote, according to a company press release.

Voters are required to enter their name, email, and address, and will be entered for two tickets to the Monopoly Ball scheduled for March 8, 2014, the hospital's 20th anniversary.

Deadline for votes is Sept. 30.
