Commissioner Gist to Skydive in Middletown Saturday
Commissioner Deborah A. Gist will skydive in Middletown on Saturday afternoon.
State Education Commissioner Deborah Gist will skydive Saturday in Middletown, according to the Providence Journal.
The event is a fulfillment on a promise that the commissioner, along with a teacher, would dive out of a plane if Rhode Island students completed the "Dive into a Book! Summer Reading Challenge."
The brave teacher who accepted the challenge was Drew Madden with Blackstone Valley Prep Mayoral Academy.
The event will take place Saturday at 3 p.m. at Skydive Newport, 211 Airport Access Rd., Middletown.
