Bites Nearby: Jim's Deli Brings Boston Style Pizza to Middletown

The name Jim’s just stuck. The original opened in Cumberland in 1982. Then Jim opened a second location in Middletown at 957 West Main Road 20 years later.

A different Jim bought the business in 2005 and expanded the menu to include Greek, homestyle and heart-healthy meals. In 2009, Jim #2 added a line of Italian deli favorities such as pizza, of course, calzones and specialty subs.

The lunch special at is very reasonable; a six-inch sub with chips or soup and large fountain drink or a can of soda goes for $6.99.

As part of their catering menu, Jim’s offers box lunches (for a minimum of 10 people), cold cuts platter, fresh salad and pasta trays. Their specialty pizza toppings include grilled chicken, feta, gyro, kalamata olives, ricotta cheese, artichokes and anchovies along with the usual toppings. The pizzas are Boston style, which means a thinner crust with thicker cheese.
