Viewfinder: Simmons Farm Baby Goats 'Baaask' in Spring Sunshine

The petting zoo at Simmons Farm is open year-round, but in the springtime, baby goats graze, play and romp around.

The Simmons Farm in Middletown is a certified organic farm and, this year, for the first time, will produce goat's milk cheese for its customers at the farm stand, as well as at farmers' markets across the state.

At the petting zoo, open daily from sun-up till sun-down, you can see the dairy goats, along with ducks, geese, cows and sheep.

The zoo offers a self-serve grain bin with cups for feeding the animals so bring your quarters. The donation for feed is 50 cents per cup.

Scott Sullivan, who comes to the zoo often with his daughter Keegan and her friends, says, "this is the best deal in town. After we feed the goats here, we go across the street to Prescott farm to feed the ducks."

The farm, operated by Brian and Karla Simmons, also offers a CSA program, (Community Sponsored Agriculture), and a farm stand on the property.
