What Business Would You Want Here?

Baga Dowe sports is moving to North Kingstown

Baga Dowe sports, located on the corner of Aquidneck Avenue and Green End Avenue is almost moved out and is headed to North Kingstown.

Patch heard the Middletown Small Business Fairy Godmother has been spotted in the area.  With the wave of her wand, she will put any business in the spot.

What would business would you request?

Perhaps it would be nice to have a trendy cheese and pasta shop next to the liquor store.   Maybe residents would like to see something positive such as an office for a non-profit.  Or perhaps you will ask her to just put in something practical like a dry-cleaner.

I think this editor will ask for an Apple Store.

What would you put in with the wave of a wand?  Tell us in the comments!

i think an organic/farm fresh specialty foods market with local breads and cheese to pair with the fine wines from next door.

I agree with Bob, a nice, local, fresh food market would be a great option for our neighborhood.

I enjoyed Baga Dowe and will miss the folks who helped hundreds of Island families discover the sport of Lacrosse. That being said a great Hoagie (aka Grinder) Shop would be nice. Middletown lacks a great Philadelphia Cheese Steak! Healthy is good but Phillie Cheese Steaks rock!

That spot has been a number of things over the years. Most of the things mentioned above can be had nearby on the island, so i wouldn't want them there. plenty of office space available, so not that... What i would like to see though is a new specialty toy store.. not out there stuff, but a decent store where kids can go buy unique birthday presents for their friends, etc... We have nothing like it on the island. KB went bye bye, walrus and carpenter went bye bye, and wal mart selection sucks. pow science moved away as well. i think a good general toy/ game/ hobby/ gift store would do well.
