1. Friday is the Middletown DMV's Last Day
After Friday, Aquidneck Islanders with business at the state's Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will have to travel to the nearest DMV offices in Wakefield, Cranston, Providence or Warren to conduct DMV transactions. On Thursday, the wait to register vehicles was about two hours long as area motorists hurried to squeeze in transactions before Aquidneck Island's only branch closes temporarily until a new location reopens locally later this year. .

2. Saturday Storytime with Miss Lynn at Barnes and Noble

3. Weekend at the Movies
Local theaters have lots of new movies coming out this weekend, along with some awards season contenders. New movies include "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never 3D," "Sanctum" and "Gnomeo and Juliet." Critically acclaimed films such as "Black Swan," "The Fighter," "True Grit" and "The King's Speech" continue to draw film buffs to the local theaters. Click here for showtimes. 

4. Sunday Lecture: Black Baseball in Rhode Island
