A Pow-Wow, Woodcock Walk, Famous Mouse, and Free Tennis Clinic Await This Weekend

Middletown's best family friendly events for the week ending March 24-27.

This week's best bets to keep the whole family entertained includes sports, nature walks, spaghetti dinners and more.

  • WOODCOCK WALKS
    Where/When:
    on Thursday, March 24 from 6 to 7 p.m.
    Why Go:
    Children ages 8 and up will enjoy an indoor lecture with Education Coordinator Rachel Holbert before she takes them on an evening walk to watch the woodcocks perform their aerial acrobatics.
    Pricing:
    $6/member; $8/non-members; Registration required.

  • Where/When:
    on Thursday, March 24 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
    Why Go: The East Bay MET School Parent Group is hosting a spaghetti dinner and inviting the public to come see what the school is all about. There will also be raffles and a 50-50 drawing.
    Pricing: $5/adult; $2/children under 12

  • Where/When:
    on Friday, March 25 at 10:30 a.m.
    Why Go:
    Miss Lynne will read a selection of Laura Numeroff and Felicia Bond’s book series “If You Give a…” with a special guest appearance by the mouse from the book series.
    Pricing: Free

  • Where/When:
    on Saturday, March 26 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    Why Go:
    The Aquidneck Island Intertribal Council hosts this event featuring Native American arts and crafts, music and more to help support their own charities as well as the St. Joseph’s Indian School.
    Pricing: Admission is free

  • Where/When:
    on Saturday, March 26 from 6 to 8 p.m.
    Why Go:
    An all ages tennis clinic for anyone interested in starting to play tennis or in getting their children involved in playing. The clinic will be split into groups based on ability and age. All participants will receive a free t-shirt as well as refreshments.
    Pricing:
    Free, but reservations are required.
