Beach Commission to Discuss Proposed Pavilion, Chamber Business Expo and More

The town's planetarium show makes for a fun Tuesday night out, while the Chamber of Commerce's Annual Business Expo, social groups with focuses on healing and well being, and discussions over a new Second Beach pavilion round out this Tuesday, March 8:

1. Journey to the stars tonight at 7 p.m. for the monthly Planetarium Family Fun Night at the Gaudet Middle School.
2. The Memorial Funeral Home in Newport hosts a special knitting group with a focus on grief support from 6-7 p.m. 
3. The annual Newport County Chamber of Commerce Business Expo takes place today on Goat Island in Newport from 4 to 7 p.m. 
4. Looking for a therapeutic, gentle exercise that doesn’t require a health club membership or spending money? Check out the free Tai Chi practice sessions held every Tuesday and Friday from 8-9 a.m. at the Norman Bird Sanctuary. 
5. The Beach Commission meets today at 4:30 p.m. at the Middletown Police Department Community Room. On the agenda is discussion over a multi-purpose function room for a proposed new Second Beach Pavilion. The agenda available at right may be viewed or printed.
