A look at what's happening in and around Middletown today.

1. Back to school! Middletown students resume classes after spring break.

2. Today in high school sports: the varsity girls' outdoor track team competes against St. Mary - Bay View and East Providence at home. The varsity golf team also competes against St. Mary - Bay View and Portsmouth at Portsmouth High. The freshmen boys' baseball team also takes on Bishop Hendricken.

3. The Aquidneck Island Planning Commission's Energy Alliance will host the free screening of the , at 6:30 p.m. at the Jane Pickens Theater.

4. The Roving Eye International Film Festival at Roger Williams University continues today. Today they present a series of films from the West and East under the theme "Building Bridges Across Lands."

5. The start to this week isn't quite as pleasant as the last. Expect temps in the mid-50s and a chance of rain, according to the National Weather Service.
