Snowstorm to Hit Rhode Island, Coastal Areas Might Be Spared

Snow is expected in Rhode Island this weekend, yet coastal areas might be spared.

Once again, the snow is melting. But once again, don't put the shovels away. Because once again, the weekend is bringing us more snow.

A new snowstorm is headed our way for Saturday and Sunday, which could dump another 8 inches on some parts of Rhode Island.

Middletown might be spared, however.  At this time, the best chance for this will be north of the Massachusetts turnpike and away from the coast, reports the National Weather Service (NWS).  Being three days away, the NWS says the forecast is still uncertain and could change.

However, the threat for a period of heavy snow is possible across much of the
region. The NWS warns of the potential for some downed tree limbs and power outages where heavy wet snow occurs.

What's your guess? Will Middletown get hit by yet another snow storm? Tell us in the comments.
